We, the committee of the annual event "Arigatou Taiwan", is formed by Japanese students studying in Taiwan, to show our deepest gratitude towards Taiwan's support during the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake. The event is held annually on March. When the great earthquake shook Japan, it shook the heart of our dear friends in Taiwan, and they took the matter as though the earthquake happened to them. They gave us an initial support of 20 billion Japanese Yen in supplies and well as a lot of encouragements to help us get through the hardship of recovery. To express our gratitude, the committee has held the event "Arigatou Taiwan" from 2012 to 2016.To us Japanese, we would like to continue this act of gratitude for the warmth that our fellow Taiwanese have given us. This event will deliver our gratitude towards Taiwan, as well as the latest development of the disaster area, with that, establish the "bond in heart" between Japan and Taiwan.
